Rescues and Runways Fashion Show

What an amazing event! Maurices clothing store sponsored a fashion show and silent auction benefiting the Humane Society.  The clothes were fabulous (the outfit I am wearing is from Maurices) and the show was even better.  Some of the models actually walked dogs that were available for adoption while they were strutting the runway!  I wanted to take them all home-the dogs and the clothes!

Recognition by the Board of Education

Although television interviews are exciting, it was an incredible feeling to be honored at our county's Board of Education meeting on September 21st.  Beth Cox, our District 4 representative, had some very touching things to say about how proud she is to have me as a teacher in our county.  Teaching and mentoring children is a passion of mine, and I am so blessed to have what I consider the greatest job in the world!

Erma Seigel Elementary

Had a blast reading to the students at Erma Seigel Elementary! I read Mr. Peabody's Apples by Madonna, which is a great story about the consequences of spreading rumors.  The school is beautiful and the students were super sweet! One little girl even told me she liked my "princess hat"! Too precious! I can't wait to go back!

Founder's Day at Locust Fork, AL

Had a fabulous time with my sister queens Jennifer Beaver (Mrs. Alabama) and Savannah Boyd (Miss Teen Alabama) in Locust Fork, AL! We met some very heroic individuals including those from the local fire department and a crew of life flight medics.  Many thanks to those who were in attendance as well as to the heroes who serve!
